Hey everyone! I've been diving deep into TV research and think I've settled on getting a 55-inch OLED. However, I keep coming across the idea that if I sit 9 feet away from it, the picture might look just like 1080p instead of truly taking advantage of 4K. I even found a Reddit thread where some users claimed they could see a big difference at that distance, while others disagreed. So, is this a common misconception? Does anyone have real-life experience with this? I know larger screens are generally preferred, but given my budget and room size, the 55-inch seems perfect. I'm about to pull the trigger on this deal, but if I won't really experience 4K at 9 feet, then I might have to reconsider. What do you think?

It’s not so much that the picture quality is worse the further back you sit, but rather how your eyes perceive the difference. You might still notice improvements like HDR if you’re upgrading from 1080p. So even at 9 feet, you might appreciate the upgrade!
But won’t it actually appear more like 1080p from that distance?
