I'm putting together my first PC, and I'm curious about whether the SSD slot on the Gigabyte Z790 Eagle AX LGA 1700 motherboard has a built-in heatsink. I think it might, but I want to be sure before I make any purchases. Any insights would be appreciated!

To confirm, this motherboard has a heatsink for the top M.2 slot only. The other two M.2 slots don't come with heatsinks, so you'll only need to buy one for the others if you're planning on using them.
Yes, the Gigabyte Z790 Eagle AX does come with a built-in heatsink for the main M.2 SSD slot, which is located just above the main PCIe slot. So you’re set for that one!
Alright, that's why I thought thanks!
Definitely take a look at the user manual on the official support site. It gives detailed specs and information on the heatsinks for your board.
Check the details on the Gigabyte website; they list that the top M.2 slot has a built-in heatsink under point 8 in the overview section. This should help you make your decision!
Alright, so for at least one SSD I don't need to buy an extra heatsink then?
