I just built a new PC and installed Windows, and after some initial issues, I finally got all the drivers working. A friend suggested I update the BIOS, so I followed a tutorial, but now my Ethernet is completely non-functional. I've tried various troubleshooting steps already and I'm looking for advice on how to fix this. My motherboard is an X870E Rog Strix.

I feel your pain! It seems like you've done a lot already, but if you can't find the network drivers in Device Manager, that definitely points to an issue. Try reseating the LAN cable; make sure it’s snug in both the port on the motherboard and the router. Also, test a different cable if you can. If lights aren’t showing up, it’s like the board isn’t recognizing the Ethernet connection at all.

It sounds like you've had a rough time! First, make sure to install the chipset and LAN drivers directly from your motherboard's official website. Also, check if the Ethernet adapter is enabled in the settings. Have you updated Windows since the BIOS change? You should also take a peek in Device Manager to see if everything appears okay there. Does the Ethernet port or your router's lights indicate connection? Sometimes, cables can come loose, so ensure everything's plugged in securely on both ends. If Wi-Fi works, that could help isolate the problem further.
