Experiencing Black Screen Lockups on Laptops?

Hey everyone,

We've recently seen a spike in reports of workstations going completely black and locking up, requiring a forced reboot to get back online. This seems to be happening mostly on laptops, but it's possible that our higher laptop usage is skewing the numbers. Users have shared that they're finding their machines unresponsive when they come back to them after some time, whether it's in the morning or even just stepping away for a bit. Some devices are also just turning off without waking back up from suspend mode.

So far, it looks like each device has only experienced this issue once. We're using a mix of tools like NinjaRMM, AutoElevate, Huntress, Ninite, and Zorus, and we're reaching out to these providers to check for any known problems.

I'd love to hear if anyone else has encountered similar issues this past week.

We’ve been experiencing this with various setups too, particularly with Dell laptops. Seems like some bloatware in the event logs flagged a BIOS downgrade as an attack, which caused daily lock-ups. It’s a real headache!

Oh man, I’m not alone! I had a similar issue with my HP setup. Switching docks helped, but the problem resurfaced with new monitors. It's clearly a widespread issue!

I noticed the same issue recently with some laptops. It could be related to a firmware update on Lenovo docks that affects systems running Windows 11. I haven’t had time to investigate thoroughly, but it seems to happen frequently after the first lock-up.

I can relate! My work PC has been doing this ever since I upgraded to Windows 11 24H2. Though rebooting just leads to more lock-ups. Definitely sounds frustrating!

Have you checked the event logs on those devices where this has happened? That's usually the best first step for troubleshooting issues like these.
