Experiencing Constant Driver Crashes with My 7900XTX – Should I Buy a New GPU?

I've been really frustrated with my Sapphire Nitro+ 7900XTX since it keeps crashing during driver sessions, especially when playing DX12 games like World of Warcraft, Assassin's Creed: Shadows, and others. My setup includes an Intel i5-13600K, 32GB of 3600MHz RAM, and I'm running on an MSI Z690 Tomahawk MAG motherboard. All my drivers and Windows are updated, and I've tried a bunch of troubleshooting steps like clean driver installations, a complete Windows reinstall, and GPU tuning adjustments. Sometimes I can game for a couple of hours without issue, but usually, it crashes within 15 minutes. If this problem seems unsolvable, I'm looking for alternative GPU suggestions that perform similarly to the 7900XTX, are compatible with my setup, and cost around $800 or less. Any insights would really help!

What power supply are you using, and how old is it? Make sure you’re using full 8-pin cables directly to the GPU, as pigtails can sometimes cause issues with power delivery. If it’s not getting enough power, that could explain the crashes!

I actually have a ROG STRIX 1000W Platinum+ PSU paired with my GPU since February 2023. I'm using two full 8-pin cables and one pigtailed from the second cable.

You might want to try rolling back your drivers a bit. I've read a lot of people saying the latest drivers can cause headaches with stability. It could really help!

Which driver version do you think is best to use?
