Experiencing CPU Instability with Intel’s 14th Gen: What Should I Do?

I've been dealing with serious instability issues for about 6 months now with my Intel 14th Gen CPU, and I'm at my wit's end. My PC frequently crashes, and I've got random software failures, including issues with Chrome, various driver software, and even Windows updates not working properly. At one point, I had to reinstall Windows completely because it wouldn't reset. I initially thought it was a RAM issue since Windows Memory Diagnostic indicated hardware problems. I've only been using one RAM stick because I suspected the crashes were worse with two sticks. However, after reading up more, it seems there are known issues with my i9-14900kf CPU. I updated my BIOS to 17.02, thinking that would help, but I'm still facing problems. Recently, I discovered my CPU was overheating, which I addressed, and I even tried Intel's XTU program to optimize. That worked for a little while, but just last week, I started experiencing crashes again, including issues when opening Chrome. I've collected some error messages from the Event Viewer, but I'm not sure what the best next steps are. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

It sounds like you might be dealing with a known degradation issue with Intel's 13th and 14th Gen CPUs. Unfortunately, BIOS updates can only prevent further degradation but won't fix CPUs already affected. I recommend reaching out to the retailer where you bought your CPU or directly to Intel to see if you can arrange a replacement or RMA. Better to get ahead of this now than to deal with even bigger issues later!

If my computer was pre-built, do you think I could still get a refund for the CPU from Intel? What should I do if that’s not possible?
