Experiencing Graphics Issues After Removing Xorg from GNOME – Need Help!

I've been running into some serious graphics quirks since they removed the Xorg session option from GNOME. I've tested this extensively across various distributions and hardware, and the problems just won't go away.

Here's the breakdown:
1. **Main System (EndeavourOS):**
- **Specs:** AMD Ryzen 7 9700X and NVIDIA RTX 3060 Ti with the latest nvidia-dkms driver.
- **What's Happening:** When using GNOME on Wayland, I notice small glitches and artifacts in apps. The real kicker is when I try to use Cinnamon on Wayland; the system freezes completely, requiring a hard reboot.
- **X11 Need:** I desperately need X11 since it's essential for me to avoid issues like black screens, random pixel corruption, and bizarre artifacts.

2. **Secondary System (Alpine Linux):**
- **Specs:** Intel Xeon and NVIDIA GTX 1070 Ti.
- **Experiments:** I'm seeing similar glitches under Wayland, which suggests it's not just with my primary machine.

3. **Linux Mint:**
- **Equipment:** My dad's older Asus laptop.
- **Results:** Also encountered similar instability.

What I've confirmed is that these issues started right after the Xorg session removal update. Plus, since software like AnyDesk doesn't work on Wayland, it's pushing me further to find a stable X11 solution. So, what should I do now? Is this issue about Nvidia support in Wayland or something else? And what's the safest way to reinstall Xorg and get a stable GNOME session back without causing more problems?

First off, it seems like you’re really struggling with this Xorg issue. Have you tried tweaking your settings for Xwayland to see if it helps? GNOME officially removed the X11 session option in version 48, but you should still be able to run X11 apps, especially with the proprietary Nvidia drivers. Just a heads up, stability in Cinnamon on Wayland is still being worked on, so some glitches are expected.

I really do need X11 because without it I can't work properly. I'm dealing with problems like black screens and strange graphics artifacts on my systems.
