Experiencing High Upload but Low Download Speeds on Windows 11

Hey everyone! I'm having some strange issues with my Windows 11 setup. I recently upgraded my broadband to 910 Mbps. However, when I run speed tests on two different Windows 11 machines (both hardwired), I'm only getting around 300-400 Mbps for download and about 900 Mbps for upload. I'm testing the same ethernet cable and port with my MacBook Pro, which hits nearly the full 910 Mbps for download and 920 Mbps for upload, so I know it's not an issue with my ISP.

The Windows 11 machines I'm using are an Intel NUC and a Dell Pro Premium. I've tried rebooting, updating drivers and Windows, and I've even turned off any power-saving features on the adapters, but I still can't figure out why the download speed is so low. I've also run tests on sites like speedtest.net, NPURF, and fast.com. I'm really stuck here—any suggestions?

Since you mentioned it seems to be a problem with only the Windows machines, have you tried ensuring all your network drivers are fully updated? Also, check if there are any quality of service (QoS) settings in your router that might be affecting the download speed.

You might want to try disabling the Large Send Offload feature. To do this, go to Device Manager, find your Network Adapters, right-click on your adapter, and select Properties. Then, in the Advanced tab, look for 'Large Send Offload V2' for both IPv4 and IPv6 and set them to Disabled. This has worked for some people in the past!

Thanks for the tip! I already checked, and both settings were disabled on my adapter.

This might be a good question to ask your ISP's helpdesk, just to cover all bases. Sometimes they might have specific settings or updates.
