Experiencing Issues After Updating GPU Driver – Need Help!

A few days ago, my PC started experiencing severe stuttering, where it would freeze for a few seconds before returning to normal. After trying to close all applications and reboot the system multiple times, I found that it was still stuttering and also boot looping. I decided to do a fresh install of Windows, which seemed to work at first until I tried to install any GPU driver from Nvidia's site. After installation, my GPU would continuously disconnect and reconnect, leading to constant reboots. I've attempted booting in safe mode, using Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) to remove the driver, and have tried all older driver versions that worked fine in the past, but the issues persist. Any advice on what to do next, or should I start considering a new GPU? Here are my specs:
- Ryzen 5 5800x
- 32GB Corsair Vengeance @ 3200MHz
- MSI RTX2080 Waterforce
- MSI x570 Gaming Plus
- Windows 11

It sounds like you might have hit a glitch with Windows 11 after that driver update. Check if any recent Windows updates are causing the issue; Nvidia even recommended uninstalling one specific update previously. It could be worth looking into that!

Do you know which Windows update Nvidia mentioned? That could be really helpful!

Have you tested the Microsoft version of the Nvidia driver? It might be outdated, but they tend to be stable. Sometimes Windows updates also interact poorly with newer drivers, so rolling back to that could help.

Yeah, everything was fine with those older drivers installed.
