Experiencing Kernel Mode Heap Corruption – Could It Be My Motherboard?

I recently got a 'Kernel mode heap corruption' error when I tried to download and install a game. This error keeps popping up every 10 minutes and forces my PC to restart. I ran Memtest on my single 16GB DDR5 RAM stick, and it showed over 200 errors, so I've returned it and am awaiting a replacement. However, I'm now wondering if the issue could also be due to a faulty motherboard. The shop ran Memtest again, and it didn't show any errors in four passes. How can I go about testing my motherboard or CPU to figure out if they're the culprits behind these problems? Here are my specs: Motherboard: Gigabyte A620M H, CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 7500f, GPU: RTX 5070, RAM: Single stick 16GB G Skill Aegis 5600MHz, PSU: MSI 850W Gold.

It’s unlikely that the memory path would be messed up if nothing worked at all. Sometimes it’s the CPU's memory controller causing issues. I've noticed a few Ryzen 7000 CPUs throw memory errors under load. Try lowering the turbo frequency by 100-300 MHz to see if that stabilizes things. Also, consider disabling XMP/EXPO to run the memory at base speed. This could help during testing!

But it seems pointless to have high-speed memory if I can't utilize its full potential! Is there a workaround for this?
