I'm having trouble with my internet causing lag spikes during gaming on my PC. It works fine for a while, but then I get sudden lag spikes that last around 4-7 seconds. Sometimes the lag is so intense that it kicks me out of the game entirely. I'm on a 500mbps download and 10mbps upload plan from Cox. Does anyone have suggestions on how to resolve this issue?

If you're getting good speeds but still lagging, it might be worth checking your network setup. Sometimes, a faulty router or too many devices trying to connect might cause these spikes.
Make sure to check your ping with a speed test. It might provide clues about your connection quality. I’ve noticed that for me, a ping lower than 20ms is usually good, but anything above 30ms can start to cause issues.
What game are you playing? Sometimes lag issues can be game-specific, so knowing that could help narrow things down. Also, do run a speed test to check your ping when the lag occurs! It could give us more insight.
