Experiencing Low FPS and High Frame Times After Upgrading RAM and Motherboard

I'm having some serious issues after upgrading my system. My setup includes a Ryzen 5 5600x CPU and a Gigabyte X570S UD motherboard. I recently switched out my old MSI B450 Tomahawk motherboard and upgraded my RAM from G.Skill TridentZ 16GB (8x2) to Corsair Pro RGB 32GB (16x2). Since making these changes, I'm facing really low FPS and high latency in games, and I can't figure out if it's a RAM issue or if something's off with the motherboard. Any thoughts on what I should do to resolve this? Is it really a RAM problem, or could the motherboard be the culprit? Thanks!

I've heard that Ryzen processors don't always play nice with Corsair RAM. Maybe try swapping back to your old G.Skill RAM and see if that fixes the issues you're having. It could really change things up!

It sounds like your memory settings might not be right. I recommend checking out Zentimings to see if your RAM is configured properly. Also, running a benchmark like Cinebench 2024 could provide some clarity—just check your CPU temps and power while you're at it using HWInfo64. It might help pinpoint the issue! You can find those tools online easily.

Did you reinstall Windows after the upgrade? Sometimes carrying over an old installation leads to driver conflicts. Make sure you have the latest motherboard drivers installed too, since driver compatibility can mess up performance.

You mentioned using XMP for your RAM, but remember that XMP profiles are primarily for Intel. Though, it does work with Ryzen sometimes! Just keep that in mind if you're having issues getting your RAM to run at its rated speed.

Interesting! I did think it was odd. So, should I manually adjust the settings instead?

What kind of GPU are you using? Sometimes, the bottleneck could be related to the graphics card, especially if it's not a high-end model that's able to keep up.
