Experiencing Low FPS in Games – Need Help Troubleshooting

Hey everyone,

I've been having some trouble with low FPS in games after tweaking my RAM settings. Initially, I discovered my RAM struggled to reach its advertised speed of 6000 MHz, so I have it running at 5800 MHz now. While the games don't crash anymore, I'm facing lag in titles like Witcher 3 and Genshin Impact, especially at mid/high graphics settings.

I've included a gif showing the performance issue.

Now, I'm trying to figure out whether this low FPS is related to my RAM, CPU, or GPU. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance!

Also, I've run some Memtest checks:
1. XMP Disabled: No errors
2. 5600 MHz XMP Enabled: No errors
3. 5800 MHz XMP Enabled: 24 errors
4. 6000 MHz XMP Enabled: 8000+ errors

Here are my specs:
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 9700X
- Motherboard: MSI B850M Gaming Plus WIFI7
- RAM: Corsair Vengeance DDR5 32GB 6000MHz
- GPU: Powercolor Reaper AMD Radeon RX 9060XT 16GB
- SSD: Samsung 970 EVO
- Cooler: Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120
- PSU: Super Flower Leadex VI Platinum PRO 850W

Are you sure you aren't running on integrated graphics? Seeing your RX 9060 XT maxed out but only getting 8 FPS is pretty odd.

Yup, turns out I was using integrated graphics. I thought the GPU was being utilized since the usage was at 100%. Thanks for the heads up!

Dropping to 5600 MHz seems like a good move. Also, if possible, keep an eye on the CPU and GPU usage while gaming. By the way, you did make sure your monitor is plugged into the GPU and not the motherboard, right?

Oh man, I can't believe I did that! You're spot on about the sanity check – I had it plugged into the motherboard. Thanks for pointing that out!

It sounds like you might want to stick with 5600 MHz or even disable the XMP profile altogether. DDR5 has built-in error correction, but if you're still getting errors, that can lead to performance issues. Those constant corrections can really slow things down.

Yee, I might give that a try, but I was being silly and plugged my monitor into the motherboard instead of the GPU. Thanks for the tip!
