Experiencing Low Performance and Micro Stuttering in Games – Need Help!

I've been dealing with some frustrating performance issues ever since I upgraded to an RTX 5060 TI two months ago. I expected higher FPS in games, but instead, I'm constantly running into micro stutters and lower-than-expected frame rates. For instance, in Dune Awakening, I'm only getting around 60-65 FPS, with frequent drops to 45-50 FPS, even with DLSS enabled. Other games aren't faring much better: in Schedule 1, I barely hit 60 FPS, while Dying Light: The Beast gives me over 70 FPS but is riddled with stutters that drop it to below 45. Elden Ring is a struggle to keep above 60 FPS, but I know it's poorly optimized, so I'm not surprised there.

I've tried multiple troubleshooting steps: I reapplied thermal paste to my CPU, re-seated my GPU, updated drivers and BIOS, and changed settings for Re-size BAR support and XMP in the BIOS. I'm getting conflicting readings from GPU-Z about PCIe configuration and noticed that my GPU usage fluctuates between 20% and 100%. I've also adjusted power settings in Windows and Nvidia Control Panel, but nothing seems to work. Now I'm at a loss and could use some guidance on what to check next. Could it be an incompatibility with my motherboard or some hidden setting I missed?

Honestly, considering the specs, you should be getting better performance. Have you thought about whether your cooling setup is sufficient? Sometimes, overheating can spike the CPU and GPU usage, causing those stutters.

Your performance metrics sound reasonable, but if you’re aiming for higher FPS, especially in games like Dune Awakening which tend to be CPU-heavy, you might want to try a fresh install of Windows to clear out any conflicts.

A tip I got from a friend who had a similar issue was to set the PCIe generation to 4.0 in the BIOS. That solved his problems with the 5060 Ti, so it might help you too.

It sounds like you might be experiencing typical performance for that setup, but it’s definitely frustrating to face stuttering issues. Have you checked how many PCIe power cables your GPU needs? Make sure they’re independent and not daisy-chained; that can sometimes cause problems too.
