I'm playing Watch Dogs 2 with a 9800x3d and a 5080 graphics card, but the game is running terribly with constant stutters and low FPS, making it almost unplayable. Has anyone else faced similar issues or does anyone have advice on how to improve performance?

Honestly, I didn’t try using the 50 series, but when I had a 4090 on my 9800x3d, I faced similar issues and eventually just uninstalled the game.

It's all about expectations with this game. I'm running a 9850X3D and a 9070XT at 5760x3240 with max settings minus some extras, and it runs fine. Sure, it has shader stutter because of DX11, but as long as your drivers are working correctly, it should smooth out after some time.

You might want to do some digging for updates because I remember needing to update certain files in the game to get it to run correctly with my GPU when I replayed it recently. It might have been some DirectX files that were causing the issue.

Have you installed the latest NVIDIA Game Ready drivers? This problem might not happen in other games, right? Are you running with DLSS or ray tracing enabled?

Yeah, I'm on the latest drivers, and this issue doesn't occur in other games. It feels way more intense than Cyberpunk. The game doesn't support DLSS or RT, and I’ve tried adjusting all the aliasing settings but it hasn’t helped. I'm aiming for 60 FPS at 4K.

Keep in mind this is an older DX11 title, and it had issues when Maxwell was still out. DLSS and RT were not a thing back when this game released in 2016.

Watch Dogs 2 is known for its awful optimization. Even with powerful hardware, many players report problems since the game is a decade old and hasn't been updated. You can look up some performance fixes online—just search for 'watch dogs 2 performance tweaks'—but don't expect guaranteed results.
