I've been dealing with some frustrating random crashes on my Asus motherboard for the past couple of months. Initially, I suspected the RAM, so I pulled one of the two sticks out, but that didn't help. I also replaced the RAM with a new kit, and just this morning I encountered a boot loop that ended with a white light on the board. It wouldn't boot with the GPU installed, but it did boot using onboard graphics. After putting the GPU back in, there haven't been any issues so far. I'm wondering if the frequent brownouts we've had this summer are affecting my power supply, which is an EVGA model that's about 8 years old. My specs are a Ryzen 7900x, AMD 6800, and 32GB of Corsair RAM. Any ideas on what might be going on?

It might be wise to wait and see if the problem occurs again before getting too worried. It’s possible that the GPU issue was just a coincidence, perhaps caused by a loose connection when you replaced the RAM. Given your brownouts, I’d recommend looking into a UPS for better power stability. That could save you from future issues, especially with older hardware like your PSU.

Absolutely, I totally agree with getting a UPS. Those brownouts can really take a toll, not just on your PC's performance but also on its longevity. Good to hear your memory test came back fine!
