I'm curious if anyone else has encountered a situation where the WiFi speeds are drastically faster than Ethernet connections. I have a TP Link Deco mesh system and I'm on a 1Gb fiber plan with i3 Broadband. Currently, my WiFi devices are getting around 250Mbps, but my wired connections are only hitting 25-30Mbps at best. I've tried testing with two different routers, a Netgear Nighthawk AX150 and the TP Link Deco, and although my direct connection from the ISP shows about 900Mbps, the output on the routers is pretty disappointing. I've tweaked various router settings and I suspect there might be a double NAT issue. Any suggestions on how to troubleshoot this problem? I know my ISP has their devices locked down and I've escalated to a level 2 tech, but I'm wondering if the problem could also be with the routers themselves, especially since they all support WiFi 6 and gigabit speeds.

Don’t forget to update your Ethernet driver if you haven't done that yet. Sometimes outdated drivers can mess with your connection speeds!
You should definitely try a different Ethernet cable or check if your Ethernet adapter driver needs to be reinstalled. Also, make sure the port is configured to 1Gbps. That could make a big difference!
It could be a couple of things:
1. Your Ethernet card settings might not be configured correctly. Go to Ethernet Adapter > Properties > Configure > Advanced > Speed & Duplex and set it to 1Gb Full Duplex.
2. Your Ethernet cable could be an older CAT 5 that can't handle gigabit speeds. Make sure you use at least a CAT 5e or CAT 6 cable!
It sounds like your Ethernet cable might be plugged into a 100Mbps port. Check if the port is a different color or labeled differently. If that's the case, switching it to a gigabit port could solve your issue!
We figured it out today with support from i3. They had to 'clear tables in the ONT,' and now everything's back to gigabit speeds on my wired devices!
That's awesome! Glad to hear you got it sorted!

Thanks for the tip! I’ll check my drivers and cables right away.
