Experiencing Worse Performance After Upgrading to 5700X3D

I recently upgraded my CPU from a Ryzen 5 5600X to a Ryzen 7 5700X3D, expecting some improvements. I didn't anticipate a huge FPS boost, but I was hoping the stutter issues and low 1% FPS would be resolved. Unfortunately, the stuttering persists in games like Wukong and Dead Space Remake, and it seems to have gotten worse. In Hunt: Showdown, I actually lost about 20 FPS. I've already checked the BIOS settings and confirmed that my RAM configuration is correct. Currently, I have an RTX 4070 Super, 32GB of Vengeance RAM, and an ASUS Strix B450-F Gaming motherboard. Before I consider reinstalling Windows, I'd like to know if there are any other troubleshooting steps I should take.

Check that all your motherboard's BIOS and chipset drivers are up to date. Run "sfc /scannow" in CMD as an admin to verify your Windows file integrity, then use "chkdsk /f /r" to check your disk. Reduce the number of background processes by closing unnecessary apps, especially any antivirus software. Finally, go to Task Manager’s startup tab and disable anything you don’t absolutely need. Restart your computer and see how your games run after that!

Don't forget to check if XMP is enabled. Remember, faster CPUs can help with reducing stutter frequency, but they might also highlight those stutters if you’re running uncapped framerates. As for the FPS drop in Hunt: Showdown, that's probably just normal variance in a dynamic game.

Make sure your RAM is running with XMP enabled. When you swap CPUs, the BIOS settings might revert to factory defaults, so you need to reapply your tweaks, like enabling XMP, resizing BAR, and adjusting fan curves.

I updated the BIOS for the upgrade and reconfigured most of my settings, but I didn’t touch the fan curves.

Another thing to try is reinstalling the chipset drivers from the motherboard support page. Sometimes a clean uninstall followed by a fresh installation can help fix performance issues, especially after a major hardware change.
