Feeling Disappointed with My New 4060 Ti Performance

I recently upgraded from a 1660 Ti to a 4060 Ti, but I'm feeling pretty let down by the performance so far. While I've noticed some increase in frame rates, I'm still experiencing stuttering and significant drops in performance. I've already installed the latest drivers, but they haven't made much of a difference. Here are my specs: 4060 Ti 16GB, Ryzen 7 5700X3D, and 16GB DDR4 RAM. My PSU is definitely capable of supporting the upgrade. Any advice?

Is your RAM set up in dual channel? That could make a difference too. What games are you typically playing?

Yeah, they're in dual channel. I mostly play CS2 and Fortnite.

Also, try clearing your shader cache. It can sometimes help with performance issues. And what’s your RAM situation while gaming? If you have a lot running in the background, it could be causing the stutters due to lack of available memory.

Just a thought—did you use DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) to completely wipe the old drivers before installing the new ones? Currently, there are known issues with NVIDIA drivers that could be affecting your performance, so that might be worth checking out.

Can you give more details about which games you're playing and the frame rates you're getting for both GPUs? If your 1660 Ti was giving you around 40 FPS, you should expect the 4060 Ti to get close to double that. But if you used to get about 200 FPS, expecting 400 FPS might be unrealistic too.

You might want to run some benchmarks using HWInfo or something similar. Cyberpunk has a solid benchmark test to get a feel for your performance. Just remember, the 4060 Ti is generally expected to double the performance of the 1660 Ti, so you should see a significant improvement.
