Feeling Lost After Graduating in Computer Programming – Is This Normal?

I graduated with an associate's degree in computer programming two years ago, but I still feel like I don't know anything about the field. Is this a common experience? I'm eager to build a career in programming, but it seems like most jobs require a lot of experience that I don't have yet. What steps should I take to get started?

Yeah, it's common. Many people find that schools don't prepare them with the practical skills needed for jobs in tech. The best thing you can do now is to start building projects and studying on your own. The more hands-on experience you get, the more confident you'll become!

You're not alone! I felt the same after graduation. It’s more about developing your programming mindset than just coding skills. Start learning, stay disciplined, and you'll discover that you have absorbed more from your studies than you realize. Just remember to think about whether this path is right for you and be open to learning continuously. If coding is what you really want to do, get up and start coding!

Really good point! I'm planning to take on some projects to improve my skills. It's just hard to find the motivation sometimes.

It's totally normal to feel this way! The tech landscape is constantly evolving, and learning never stops. Focus on developing the skills relevant to your job role, and tackle challenges as they come. Over time, you'll notice a pattern in the problems you encounter. Just keep pushing through, and remember that every coder has been in your shoes at some point!
