Hey everyone! I'm currently in my 2nd semester as a Computer Science student, and honestly, I'm feeling a bit lost. Most of my coding experience so far has just been tackling assignments and some basic problems on CodeForces (about 800-900 ratings). Right now, I'm focused on learning Java OOP, but I can't shake the feeling that I should be doing more. I'm uncertain about my path in CS and feel like I'm falling behind my peers who seem to be doing more. Any advice on how to move forward?

Instead of sticking strictly to what your university teaches, try branching out. For instance, my uni primarily focuses on backend languages like Java, so I took the initiative to learn frontend development on my own. This allowed me to create more complex and interesting projects using both frontend and backend together.
Building projects on your own is one of the best ways to learn. Find something you're passionate about and try to create it—it will give you practical experience and make learning a lot more enjoyable.
Don't give up just yet! It’s normal to feel overwhelmed at first. On a more serious note, have you tried using any open-source programs or even compiling your own? That could be a great way to dive deeper into learning!
