Feeling Nervous About Installing Linux Mint—Need Advice!

Hey everyone! I'm trying to switch from Windows to Linux and I've been struggling a bit. A few weeks ago, I attempted to install Linux Mint, but after finally reaching the desktop, I was told to disable BitLocker. Things went south after that, with multiple error messages popping up. I even bought a new flash drive thinking it might help, but no luck. Now, I'm feeling anxious about trying again because I'm afraid of messing up my laptop. Should I keep going on my own, or would it be better to find someone with more experience to assist me? And do any local shops help with this sort of thing?

First off, you'll want to make sure to disable BitLocker from Windows before you try installing again. If you've done that and it's still not working, consider checking the BIOS settings to disable secure boot as well—I've found that to be necessary for a smooth Linux installation in the past. After that, you should be good to go!

I tried that but ended up stuck again. If Mint isn't working out, don't hesitate to try another distro like Fedora or Ubuntu. Sometimes one installation just doesn't cooperate for reasons we can't figure out!
