Hey everyone! I'm currently studying computing at university, but lately, I've been feeling really lost when it comes to programming. It seems like relying on AI for many tasks has made me doubt my own skills and learning. I understand the basics of coding, but I can't confidently say I can create anything without help. I'm looking for tips on how to improve my coding abilities and would love to hear if anyone else has faced similar feelings and how they managed to overcome them.

I get where you're coming from; AI can definitely be tempting to lean on. What really helped me was setting a strict time period where I didn't touch any AI tools at all. I just worked on simple projects by myself, which forced me to think critically and solve problems. Plus, old habits like using Stack Overflow for help are great ways to learn without relying on AI. Just dive in and you'll get there!
It's tough when you feel like you’re not making progress, especially with how easy it is to depend on AI. My suggestion would be to start simple. Try building small projects that you can manage without AI first—like a basic calculator or a to-do list app. This way, you're reinforcing your understanding of the basics. Soon enough, you'll feel more confident!
Thanks for the tip! I definitely need to get back to the fundamentals.

That's great advice! I think challenging myself to code without AI could really help. I'm gonna give that a try!
