Feeling Unprepared for a Career in Web Development – Any Tips?

I'm in the final four weeks of my web development course, and I'm really anxious. I feel like I should have all the knowledge I need by now, but honestly, my coding skills aren't where I want them to be. I've relied heavily on AI for help with assignments and interviews, and now I'm worried about my future career. Also, I'm autistic, which adds another layer of concern for me. What steps can I take to improve and feel more confident in this field?

The key to getting better is to practice programming regularly. You don’t need to memorize everything; instead, use documentation to find the info you need as you go. Focus on building a solid foundation through hands-on experience!

Honestly, try to step away from relying on AI for a bit. Making things on your own will help you learn way more. And don’t forget, being easy to work with is super important in this field. A lot of developers have neurodiversity, so you're not alone in this!

Preparing for interviews is a different skill than actual coding. Make sure you're working on your coding skills while also practicing for interviews. If you focus on the coding part and keep building, you'll be fine.

It’s okay not to know everything at this stage! Everyone starts somewhere. Just keep building things, and you'll progressively learn what you need. The best way to grow your knowledge is through actual practice.

Don't stress too much! In many places, especially here in the Netherlands, employers don’t expect juniors to know everything. Focus on practicing your skills and build your own projects! That’s where the best learning happens.
