First Time Building a PC: Need Help with Parts and Suggestions!

Hey everyone! I'm excited to build my first gaming and creative PC but I have a ton of questions. My budget is around $4000, and I want to use it for gaming, video editing, 3D animation, and design work—especially in Blender. I'm also really focused on aesthetics and would like the setup to be all white.

I've picked out a few parts I'm considering:
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 9950X
- Case: Hyte Y70 Infinite Touch
- GPU: I'm torn between the RTX 5070Ti and 5080—what do you all think?
- Motherboard: I'm looking at something with an 'X' like the X870; would love your opinions!

I'm kind of lost on the other components like RAM, storage, and the PSU. I'd appreciate any recommendations on what to get as I navigate through this. Thanks!

Since your budget is high, you have a ton of options. Just check out a couple of YouTube tutorials—they can guide you through the process pretty well. But remember that some prices can be misleading. Building this PC might end up being more expensive than it looks on paper, so it's good to get real feedback from builders as you refine your choices.

That’s true! Sometimes, they say a setup costs $4000, but it can turn out to cost closer to $5000 with all the extras.

Blender needs a lot of RAM, so definitely go for a decent amount—ideally in a dual-channel setup. If you opt for DDR5, I'd steer clear of 4-channel setups since they can be a bit tricky right now. Regarding GPUs, I’d say stick with the 5070Ti; it’s a solid choice and often closer to MSRP, which makes it a budget-friendly option. The 5080 is better in performance, but it might not be worth the extra cash. Plus, with your build, make sure to consider your cooling options, which can vary in price and effectiveness. Good luck with your build!

I agree about the 5070Ti for price-to-performance. But since he has a high budget, the 5080 might be worth the investment, especially for serious work.

Fair point! But in some countries, the price difference can be even more than $250, pushing the budget into questionable territory.

With your $4000 budget, you could really get top-notch parts. Consider going for the RTX 5090 if you're okay with maxing that budget. But if you're looking for a sensible choice, the 5080 is a great fit. I’d skip the 5070Ti in this range unless you’re mindful of costs. Just weigh the performance you're intending to get against your budget.

Yeah, but in some regions, that 5090 is almost $3000 on its own! The 5070Ti fits someone with a strict budget way better.

Your selected CPU and GPU are solid! For RAM, I’d recommend at least 32GB (6000MHz ideally). A 2TB NVMe SSD is a great choice too. Aim for a good quality PSU—1300W Gold certification is reliable. Look at good options for your motherboard; something like the Tomahawk will serve you well, but the more you pay, the better the components generally are. Don’t forget about cooling!
