I'm trying out Nobara Linux for the first time after getting fed up with Windows. I mainly installed it for gaming. However, after I installed the Nvidia graphics drivers and rebooted my PC, everything started lagging horribly. The lag is especially noticeable when my mouse hovers over certain applications like the settings, the search bar, or the taskbar. I'm also unable to open some programs such as the Nobara Driver Manager and Brave. During this lag, I've noticed my CPU usage spikes significantly—from around 17% to nearly 70% when I move my mouse. Other background processes are causing the CPU to idle at about 20%. I'd really appreciate any help with this issue!

It sounds like you might be dealing with a faulty GPU driver. Not being able to access the Nobara Driver Manager could be part of the problem, especially since your GPU usage sits at 0%. Maybe check out the Nobara FAQ when Cloudflare is back up; they have a section on installing Nvidia drivers. Also, the Nobara community likely has more insights!
Just a heads-up, Nobara already comes with a version tailored for Nvidia graphics. If you installed a driver manually, that might be the source of your issues. It’s easy to mess up, but don’t stress! You might just need to reset the driver or uninstall the one you manually added.
Thanks for the tip! I didn’t realize that. I just assumed since my second monitor wasn’t working, I needed to install the drivers. Guess I jumped the gun!

Good call! You should definitely wait for the page to load. In the meantime, are you able to check if your drivers are currently installed? That might help narrow things down.
