I've been dealing with an annoying issue with my self-built PC. Here's a quick rundown of what's been happening:
Initially, my PC stopped working, and I found out the CMOS battery was dead. After replacing it, the system started up again.
A month later, it stopped again, and thinking it was the power supply, I swapped in a spare Corsair RX 750W, which worked well.
However, after two weeks, it failed yet again. I tried various fixes and eventually switched back to my original Corsair 650W PSU, and it ran fine again.
But now, after just a week, my PC has stopped working again. I even tried using a screwdriver to bypass the power button, but nothing happens. The motherboard standby light does flash briefly when I turn on the PSU, so it seems to be getting some power.
Here are my specs in case they help:
- Motherboard: Gigabyte B550 Aorus Pro
- CPU: Ryzen 7 3700x
- GPU: Radeon RX 6600
- RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4
- CPU Cooler: NZXT Kraken 280mm AIO Liquid Cooler

Hey! First, do you notice any fan movement when you power it on? If not, that might indicate a bigger issue.
Keep an eye on the motherboard light; the brief flash is some sign of life, but no fan spin is worrisome.
I faced a similar situation once. It turned out my graphics card was dead. After removing it, I was able to boot with the integrated graphics. If you have another GPU, even a weaker one, try it out and see if that helps!
Consider swapping out the CPU. Sometimes, issues can stem from a malfunctioning processor, and testing with a different one could help nail down the problem.
