Frustrated with Persistent Driver Issues on My Gaming PC

I've been having a really frustrating experience with my Victus by HP 15L Gaming Desktop. I run Windows 11 Home 64-bit and am using an AMD Ryzen 5 5600G with Radeon Graphics. Despite reinstalling the AMD Radeon RX 6400 and the Ryzen graphics drivers multiple times, I keep running into major driver issues. Randomly, I find that once I log into my computer, I can't click on anything—no apps, no settings, and not even the Windows Search bar! It's impossible to restart or shut down normally, forcing me to hold down the power button or unplug the power cord. I've tried using the AMD Cleanup Utility to force my computer into safe mode, and it somewhat works if I'm quick about it, but this has become a tedious cycle. I've even disabled Windows from updating my graphics drivers and followed some advice from AMD Tech Support, but nothing seems to fix the freezing. It's really cutting into my work time, and I'm at my wit's end! What can I do to finally resolve this?

Have you tried running memtest86 to check for memory issues? Also, switching between integrated graphics and your dedicated GPU could help figure out if the GPU is the culprit. If the system runs fine on integrated graphics, your RX 6400 might be the problem.

It sounds like your GPU might be malfunctioning. If drivers aren’t functioning properly with your hardware, that could indicate a hardware problem rather than a software issue. Consider doing a clean installation of Windows to rule out software conflicts. If the problem persists, it might be time to look into hardware replacement.

Have you tried running just off the integrated graphics? Pull the GPU out, connect the monitor to the motherboard, and see if the issue goes away. That might point to a defective graphics card.

Try holding the power button for about 7 seconds to force shut it down. Also, ensure your antivirus software is loading first when you start it up, as that can sometimes help with system freezes.

You might want to consider getting a new SSD if the issues continue. Sometimes storage problems can also cause odd behavior like this.

It could also be something like a hanging service in your computer's background. Reviewing the event logs may provide some insight. If all else fails, a complete nuke and reinstall, starting fresh only with drivers might help isolate the issue.

Yeah, if you decide to nuke it, make sure to document what drivers you're installing to see if a particular one triggers the issue.
