Hey everyone, I need some advice! My Microsoft account got hacked around 5 hours ago. The attacker messed with the email alias and changed my security info, so I can't access it anymore. I contacted Microsoft support right away and talked to a live agent. They escalated my case and I filled out a personalized recovery form. Later, I got an email from the Microsoft Account Safety Team saying there was unauthorized access, but they told me they can't restore my account because the security details were altered. I have a case number (SIR23174332) and I'm worried because this account has important purchases like Minecraft and data in OneDrive. I reported everything immediately. Has anyone been in a similar situation? Is there a way to escalate or recover my account after Microsoft said they can't help? I have proof from security alerts and purchase records. Any advice would be appreciated!

It sounds rough, but if Microsoft has confirmed the account can't be recovered, it’s likely true. Once they change security info, it’s really hard to get back in. You might have to accept that the account is gone and start fresh.
Unfortunately, Microsoft pretty much sticks to their rules on compromised accounts. They don’t usually do recoveries if the security info has been changed.
Whatever happened, it seems like this was a serious compromise. If you downloaded anything suspicious, that could have been the cause. Just be careful and learn from this experience.
Yeah, if they’ve suspended it permanently, there’s usually no way around that. It’s a tough lesson, but it’s crucial to protect your info. Always double-check links and messages to avoid this happening in the future.

But what if you have evidence like purchase history? Isn’t there any way to prove ownership and get it back? It seems unfair.
