Frustrating Internet Drops: Need Help Troubleshooting!

I've been dealing with intermittent internet drops for the past few months, and it's driving me crazy! The connection drops for about five seconds at a time, which affects all my devices whether they're on Ethernet or WiFi. I have a Comcast Xfinity 1100 Mbps plan, and I live in a metropolitan area where these issues usually don't occur. Here's what I've already tried:

- Swapped my modem and router (twice)
- Changed my Ethernet cable
- Replaced the coax cable
- Restarted my modem and all my devices
- Installed a MoCA POE filter
- Updated the firmware
- Contacted my ISP, who sent out multiple techs. One found some cable damage at the coax port outside and fixed it, but the internet drops are still happening.

I'm at a loss and really need some suggestions to figure this out!

When your connection drops, can you still reach the router? It’s important to check if the problem is with your connection to the router or if it's an ISP issue. You need to figure out if you’re losing connection between your devices and the router, or if the router is still connected internally while losing internet access.

That makes sense! How can I test if I can reach other devices? Since it only drops for a few seconds, it’s tough to investigate during that time.

Have you considered connecting your router to an uninterruptible power supply (UPS)? It could help with any power issues, even if you haven’t noticed a power outage before. It might not be the main issue, but it’s worth checking out just in case!

I haven’t tried that yet. It hadn’t seemed like a power issue because other devices are fine, but I’ll look into getting a UPS.
