Games Running Poorly on Linux Mint – Should I Switch to Bazzite?

I've just installed Linux Mint, but I'm finding that my gaming performance has really dropped compared to when I was using Windows. I'm considering switching to another OS like Bazzite, but I also need my PC for coding and other tasks. I've tried using the Nvidia 580 drivers, but I'm still experiencing lag. What should I do?

Could you share more details about which games are lagging? It would also help to know how you installed the drivers and what else you plan to do on your PC besides gaming. Sometimes, the drivers might not be set up correctly, or Linux Mint might not be the best fit for gaming in general. Don't rush into switching just yet!

I'm mainly dealing with Roblox (installed through a program called Sober) and a Steam game called Lucid Blocks. Both ran perfectly smooth on Windows at max graphics. I used the default program in Mint to install the Nvidia drivers. I want to do game development in Godot and maybe some modeling in Blender, along with coding in C++. I've never tried Bazzite before; I'm currently sticking to Linux Mint.
