Hey everyone! It's been almost two decades since I've built a PC, and I'm finally diving back in. I plan to use this new setup mainly for gaming, and possibly for video editing as well, although that's not a must. Here's the parts list I'm considering:
**CPU:** AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D 4.7 GHz 8-Core
**CPU Cooler:** Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE 66.17 CFM
**Motherboard:** MSI MAG B650 TOMAHAWK WIFI ATX AM5
**Memory:** Patriot Viper Venom RGB 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR5-6000 CL30
**Storage:** Western Digital Blue SN580 2 TB M.2-2280 PCIe 4.0 X4 NVME SSD
**Video Card:** Palit GamingPro GeForce RTX 5070 Ti 16 GB
**Case:** Fractal Design North ATX Mid Tower
**Power Supply:** MSI MAG A750GL PCIE5 750 W 80+ Gold Fully Modular
Is there anything in this build that you think I should change? Also, is it worth upgrading the storage to an SSD with DRAM cache for an extra £30? Thanks in advance!

Going for a B850 motherboard is a good choice if you want to be current. Just keep in mind that even though the RTX 50 series supports PCIe 5.0, the 5070 Ti won't really use all that PCIe 4.0 bandwidth right now. Still, going for a PCIe 5.0 motherboard can set you up for future upgrades, but weigh the costs carefully!
Looks like a solid build overall! Just a heads up, the RAM you're considering is quite tall, so it might not fit under that CPU cooler without adjusting the front fan. Would suggest looking for a low-profile RAM kit to avoid any issues. Also, while a B850 motherboard with PCIe 5.0 would be nice, it probably won't make a significant difference for most current games. Everything else seems great!
I'd recommend switching the GPU to a Zotac model; I’m not too familiar with Palit. Considering a slightly better motherboard and cooler may also be worth it. Plus, don’t forget to add case fans if you haven't already!
