I came across this AOC monitor (1440p, IPS, 240Hz) that seems to be priced way lower than similar models. I'm curious about why it's so cheap compared to other 27" 1440p IPS monitors. Has anyone had experience with it or can shed some light on its quality? Here's a link to the monitor I'm talking about: https://www.amazon.com.be/-/en/Gaming-Q27G42ZE-Monitor-G-Sync-Comp/dp/B0F5BTTM66/ref=sr_1_1?crid=3EUMOM8A36H2N. It might be a good panel overall, but there's some sketchiness. It lists 144Hz instead of 240Hz, which raises some flags. Reviews are generally positive though. If you don’t really need 240Hz, I’d suggest spending a little more on something like the MSI MAG 275QF, which is a bit better for about €10 more.
AOC has a reputation for being more budget-friendly compared to brands like LG or Asus. One downside might be the cheap stand with no adjustability. Make sure that’s not a dealbreaker for you.
I've never really heard "the stand is the most important part" talked about in monitor discussions before.
I had the 2023 model, and that one was faulty for me too.
It's just an AOC monitor, nothing fancy really.
I've heard that this specific model tends to break down shortly after the warranty period ends. I had one, and the main controller board chip lost its connection over time. It's a shame because they do seem like good monitors otherwise!
That makes sense. Do you have any recommendations for alternatives? I found that the Asus lacks height adjustment, which is a bit annoying.
How hard is it to re-solder that connection if it breaks?
I’ve been using AOC monitors for years. My first one was a 34" ultrawide, and it worked great until I sold it. Currently, I have a 34" OLED ultrawide, and it's been flawless. Honestly, they’re just as good as big brands, you're mainly not paying for the brand name. Their prices are low partly due to cheaper manufacturing costs in places like China.

The MAG 275QF is going for €150 for me—seems like a solid deal, right?
