Getting GPU Artifacts with Two Different Cards – What Could Be the Issue?

I bought a 7800 XT and have been experiencing graphical artifacts in several games. I returned it under warranty and received a different 7800 XT, but the same problem persists. I'm suspecting it might be an issue with the motherboard or power supply, but I'm not sure how to test these components. I got my motherboard, RAM, and CPU as a bundle from Memory Express, and while they said it was tested, I'm not clear on what that involved.

What's the specs of your motherboard and power supply? If you previously had an Nvidia card in your system, I recommend using DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) to completely remove the old drivers before installing the AMD drivers again. Artifacts usually aren't caused by the PSU or motherboard, but since 'artifacts' can mean various things, it could also just be a bad GPU. Though, having two faulty GPUs seems unlikely, are you sure the replacement is different? It's best to double-check.

Thanks for the advice! Just to clarify, this is a new build, so there shouldn't be any old Nvidia drivers. I'm using a 7700X CPU, but I can't recall the motherboard or other specs at the moment. I’ll check once I'm home. And I made sure the GPU is different since it has a different product ID. I've already tried reinstalling the drivers.
