I'm struggling with low FPS on my high-end gaming PC, which I've built with some powerful components. Even with Counter-Strike 2 set to low settings, I'm only averaging around 100 FPS. According to this FPS calculator, I should be able to hit 300 FPS on ultra settings, so I'm confused about what's going wrong.
Here's my setup:
- CPU: i9 12900K
- Motherboard: Asrock Z690M
- RAM: 32GB Dual Channel DDR4 at 3733 MT/s (XMP enabled)
- GPU: GTX 3090
I ran a benchmark test that says everything is working fine, but my in-game performance doesn't match that. I tried tweaking the CPU overclock settings, but it made things worse. Before that, I was seeing FPS around 150-180. Should I reset the BIOS to defaults or do you have any other tips? I appreciate any help!

Have you tried running other games to see if the issue is consistent? Check your Windows power settings for any options that might limit performance, like frame rate limits. Also, monitor your GPU temperatures while gaming—overheating can cause throttling. Ensure the game is set to use the RTX 3090 by right-clicking the game in your library and selecting 'Run with graphics processor' to the NVIDIA GPU.
First off, make sure you've got all the latest drivers installed for your GPU. If you haven't already, double-check that your graphics card is plugged into the monitor and not the motherboard. It's an easy mistake to make. Also, from your setup, it sounds like you should be getting better performance!

Yeah, I updated my drivers just this morning and confirmed that the monitor is connected to the GPU via DisplayPort. It's a 1440p 380Hz LG monitor.
