Getting My G29 Gaming Wheel to Work with Steam Deck

Hey everyone! I'm having some trouble getting my G29 gaming wheel set up on my Steam Deck. I've spent a couple of hours in the console trying to figure it out, but I'm not making any progress. It seems to be recognized for oversteer but not on Steam itself. I know the permissions need to be installed manually and that they come from GitHub, right? But I'm really confused about where to put these files. Do they go in .var? By the way, I'm using Flatpak. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

A quick tip for next time: when posting technical questions, always mention what distro you're using, along with any specific hardware details and error messages. It really helps others provide better assistance!

You might want to try searching for "g29 proton"; I’ve seen people roll back Proton versions because it can help with compatibility. There’s stuff about it being broken in Proton 7 but working in Proton 3 from a while back. Even if those specific versions aren't relevant anymore, it gives you some context on possible solutions!

I GOT IT! All it needed was disabling the read-only command, and now it works perfectly.

Thanks a ton! Honestly, the GitHub stuff really confuses me. Do you know where exactly I should place those files?
