Hey everyone,
I'm looking to kick off my freelancing journey but I'm feeling a bit lost. I've browsed a ton of articles about starting out, but I'm unsure whether to focus on website design or various coding projects. I'm open to pretty much anything locally. I took a basic coding class in high school, but my real-world experience is pretty minimal. I'm currently working through the full developer curriculum on FreeCodeCamp, but I'd love to start taking on some actual projects on the side. I could really use some general advice on how to get started. A lot of the advice out there seems to be for people with more experience or those looking for extra income alongside a job. Since I'm starting from scratch, I'm unsure of where to begin. Any guidance would be hugely appreciated!

When I think of freelancing, I picture someone with serious contract experience (usually 3+ years). What a lot of folks mean by freelancing is picking up smaller gigs, which can be really competitive, especially against seasoned pros from other countries. Your current experience level might not be enough for those kind of roles right now.
Got it! What do you suggest I do instead? How can I work on my coding skills without jumping into a full-time job?
