Hey everyone, I had a user who updated their WinSCP from what I thought was the official site, but then they encountered a malware alert. The screen displayed a message advising them to call Microsoft for support. Has anyone else experienced something similar today?

A good way to check is to run the .exe through VirusTotal. That should give you some insights on whether it’s actually malicious or not.
I smell something fishy! It’s possible that they clicked an ad on the site or weren’t downloading from the official source after all. Gotta be super careful with those things.
Always recommend using the portable version of WinSCP and PuTTY. It tends to be safer and doesn't mess with installed versions.
