I'm looking for some feedback on BlueTally as we explore asset management solutions for our organization, which has about 900 users spread across various offices and some working remotely. We're currently managing everything through Excel and JIRA exports, but we're experiencing delays with so many users and workflows in play. My team lead asked us to demo different platforms, and BlueTally made it to our shortlist due to its integrations with Intune, Jamf, Slack/Teams, SCIM, and Dell/Lenovo warranty synchronization. While it looks promising on paper, I'm aware that reality can differ from marketing claims. Has anyone used BlueTally at scale, managing around 1,000 assets? How has it worked for your team, and would you recommend it?

We had demos of BlueTally, Invgate, and Asset Tiger this year. BlueTally impressed with its device lifecycle tracking and warranty alerts, especially the auto-sync features for Dell and Lenovo, which saved us a ton of manual work. However, we ultimately chose Invgate because our finance team wanted native ERP data syncing, as our focus leans more towards IT than accounting.
We deployed BlueTally about six months ago after evaluating Snipe-IT and Freshservice. They all have similarities, but we preferred BlueTally for its better user experience and scalability.
I found BlueTally to be a solid SaaS option that works without crashing. Personally, I'm still using Snipe-IT on-prem because I prefer having control and avoiding monthly costs. But cloud tools like BlueTally are convenient until they raise prices or you experience internet issues.
You still hosting on-prem in 2025? That's a wild choice!
We previously used Asset Tiger, which fit our needs well. We got our asset tags from myassettags.com, and they offered Asset Tiger for free with tag purchases. I successfully managed assets across 13 locations and some work-from-home setups. Recently, we moved everything into our Fresh Service helpdesk system to link tickets to assets, which Streamlined our process a lot.
Not to be the downer, but a lot of asset management tools seem to focus on flashy dashboards that don’t deliver reliability in real usage. I can't speak for BlueTally specifically, but I suggest steering clear of ServiceNow and Freshservice. ServiceNow can be a huge time sink, and Freshservice usually leads to ITSM problems you don’t want to deal with.
Yeah, we're trying to dodge any tools that just add more dashboards instead of fixing actual issues.

Damn finance! Always complicating things, right?
