I'm currently conducting a vendor survey for a modest wireless project, where Aruba and Unifi are my top contenders. However, a knowledgeable colleague recommended I should seriously consider Edgecore Wi-Fi. The challenge is that Edgecore appears to be quite obscure compared to other well-known brands. While I can find a plethora of experiences shared for Cisco, HPE, Unifi, and Ruckus online, there's hardly anything out there for Edgecore. Has anyone had experience with their Wi-Fi products and could share some insights?

I had a band named Edgecore in high school!
From what I've seen, Edgecore seems like just another generic OEM. Their logo kind of looks like a copy of the now-defunct Digital Equipment Corporation, which isn't the greatest sign. I've heard mixed reviews about their hardware and software quality as well. It seems like not many people are actually using Edgecore in ways that they talk about—I'd personally steer clear of them.
I literally thought their logo was from Digital too!
You might want to reconsider Edgecore for your project. They're mostly catering to whitebox deployments aimed at hyperscalers—think big venues like stadiums or convention centers that need tons of equipment delivered quickly. We looked into them for our datacenter switch setup but hit too many snags trying to get SONiC to work, so we decided to stick with IOS XR instead.
Edgecore is primarily a whitebox networking vendor and a supporter of TIP OpenWiFi. If you're planning a major project focused on open-source solutions for access points and controllers, Edgecore is definitely worth considering. However, if you're just looking to buy and set up equipment with minimal time investment, it would be better to go with more traditional, user-friendly options.
Good points, thanks for the feedback!
