I'm considering upgrading from my Ryzen 5700X but want to know if the problems associated with Raptor Lake (13th gen) have been addressed in the newer refresh (14th gen). Should I still expect to undervolt the chip or use workarounds? I plan to stick with DDR4 memory with my new setup.

I've seen some reports that Intel's latest updates might have reduced failures overall, particularly with i5s, which seem to be less affected compared to i7s and i9s. I'm switching to Intel soon using DDR4 as well, fingers crossed it goes well!
The 14th gen didn't fix the issues; in fact, some users report it's even worse than the 13th gen. If you're still using the 5700X, it's a solid CPU. Unless you're looking for a significant upgrade, I suggest holding off.
Honestly, I wouldn't bother with either of those generations. They still have the same issues and aren't really worth upgrading unless you absolutely need the extra performance.
Both generations still recommend undervolting as a precaution. Sadly, it seems these issues may never be fully resolved. If you're looking for stability, stick to tuning recommendations.
As long as you're running the latest BIOS, you should be fine with both generations. However, why not consider upgrading to AM5 with one of the Zen 4 or Zen 5 chips? RAM prices are crazy, but if you can manage with a single 16GB stick for now, it could pay off later.

That’s what I heard too! Just stick to what you have unless you really need the boost for gaming or something.
