Having Issues with My New 5700X3D Upgrade – Help!

I recently upgraded from a 5600X to a 5700X3D and it's been rough. I stress-tested the new CPU with Cinebench, reaching a maximum temperature of 75°C under load with no crashes. I also updated the BIOS to the latest version, so that seems fine. However, when I tried playing games, I ran into a lot of issues. EA FC25 wouldn't load at first, and after reinstalling and repairing, it launched but crashed again with no error message. My PC sometimes freezes, requiring me to reset it manually. I also tried playing Cities Skylines 2; it struggled to start and lagged heavily during an update, then froze again after loading my save game. What can I do to troubleshoot these problems? Any advice is appreciated! My build includes an AMD 7 5700X3D, Radeon RX 6750 XT, 32 GB 3200MHz RAM, a 1000 W PSU, and a Thermalright 240 AIO.

You might want to try a complete Windows reinstall after switching to an X3D CPU. It's supposed to help with utilizing the 3D cache effectively. Many people have found that not reinstalling can lead to performance issues like what you’re experiencing.

Really? That sounds extreme! I swapped my 5600G for a 5700X3D, along with changing my GPU and RAM, and I didn't reinstall anything. My setup runs smoothly.

I agree, a reinstall seems a bit much. Have you tried checking your GPU drivers and ensuring everything is up to date?
