Having Issues with My New MacBook Pro Touchpad – Need Help!

Hey everyone! I recently upgraded from my broken 2020 MacBook Air to a MacBook Pro M4 2024 since I work in graphic design and needed something more powerful for large files. I managed to find a used one from MacSales.com that was listed as 'premium condition' but only about six days in, I'm hitting some frustrating issues. My touchpad has stopped responding to single clicks and sometimes it just gets stuck, making it impossible to work on my Adobe applications. I'm really short on cash and I can't afford to have this laptop malfunctioning, especially since I have freelance deadlines to meet. Has anyone experienced this issue before? If I can get a refund, do you know of any better places to buy a used MacBook? I'm pretty familiar with Mac troubleshooting, but none of the usual fixes are working for me. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Have you checked out Apple's Certified Refurbished store? It might be worth a look for your next purchase. Just remember to check the return policies on MacSales.

Yeah, I did look there but MacSales had it a bit cheaper. I’m really trying to save as much as I can.

Did you reach out to the seller about your issue? They should be able to help you with that.

I submitted a support ticket but I probably won't hear back for 2-3 business days. Hoping someone here might have a quick solution!

Have you tried running any diagnostics on the trackpad? Sometimes they give you insights into hardware issues.

Yes, I ran a test and it said an external input device was detected, but the only thing I have is a Bluetooth mouse that's turned off.
