Having Issues with WiFi on My Gaming Laptop – Help!

I've got a gaming laptop I've been using for about two years, and right now, it's my only computer while I'm away from home. I'm running into a frustrating issue where the WiFi keeps dropping. It shows that I'm connected, but then it can't connect to the DNS. My phone gets a steady connection just fine. I tried using my phone's data, which connects but says there's no internet. I've done all the usual troubleshooting: restarted the router, uninstalled the LAN card, tried some command prompt tricks, and even reset my computer to an earlier save point. Each solution works for a little while, but the issue keeps coming back, usually by the end of the day. I'm taking online courses, so I really need to figure this out without having to send my laptop in for repairs. Does anyone have any advice?

Sounds like a frustrating situation! Since you've already tried quite a bit, let’s narrow it down. Make sure your WiFi drivers are up to date, and check if there’s an updated firmware available for your router. Sometimes compatibility issues can cause the connection to drop, so it's worth a look. Also, try connecting to a different WiFi network if you can, just to see if the issue is with your laptop or the specific network you're using. Last thing: consider disabling any power-saving settings on your WiFi adapter in the device manager. It might be going into sleep mode and cutting off your connection.

It seems like you've done a great job troubleshooting already. Have you tried changing the DNS settings on your laptop? Using Google’s DNS (8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4) can sometimes solve these kinds of issues. Also, it might be worthwhile to check if there are any conflicting programs or settings in your network configuration. If everything else fails, a network reset could help too—just be prepared to re-enter all your WiFi passwords afterward!
