I've run into a strange problem with printers affecting several devices across two different print servers. It seems to have started around January 28th, and I'm wondering if a recent Windows update could be the culprit. Initially, one printer reported as offline even though I could ping it from the server. After updating the drivers, it seemed to resolve the issue temporarily. However, about half an hour later, the printer went offline again. Restarting the print spooler on the server fixes the problem for a short time, but I keep receiving reports of the same issue with various other printers. These issues aren't limited to one server or printer model; there are a mix of different HPs and Savins involved. I've been kept busy with remote sessions just to restart the spooler whenever someone flags a printer problem. Has anyone else encountered this issue recently, or is there something I may be missing?

Have you checked if someone is messing with the SNMP settings? That's often the reason why a printer can be pinged but still show offline for the server. It might be worth taking a look at that.

That's a good point. I hadn’t thought about that! Just to mention, I did restart a different server running an app related to our copiers recently. It mainly tracks the Savins, so it shouldn't affect the HPs, but it did happen around the same time. I'll try rebooting that server again after hours to see if it helps.
