Having Trouble Booting After Upgrading to RTX 5070

I recently upgraded my gaming PC with an RTX 5070 from an RTX 3070, but now my PC won't boot properly. All the connections seem secure and the graphics card receives power, but my monitors don't register any input when I turn on the PC. Unlike when I use my old graphics card, where I see a black screen for about 10 seconds before the keyboard lights up and the boot screen appears, with the new card, it just stays on a black screen indefinitely. Here are some details for context:
- Motherboard: ASUS H170 PRO GAMING
- Current GPU: RTX 3070
- New GPU: RTX 5070
- Power Supply: 1000W

I had the same issue when I upgraded to a 5070 Ti. It didn’t display anything when both DP and HDMI were connected. I had to disconnect the HDMI and play around in the BIOS to get it to work. You should try booting up with only one monitor connected.

The problem is I can't even get to the BIOS screen, even with just one monitor connected...

You might want to try resetting the BIOS and ensuring that your BIOS is up to date. There’s a chance the 5070 isn’t fully compatible with your older motherboard, even though it should be. Also, double-check that the 12v power connector is firmly connected to the GPU. Honestly, if you’re sticking with the 5070, you might want to consider upgrading to a newer CPU and motherboard, as your current setup might bottleneck the performance significantly. Alternatively, going for a less expensive GPU could be a safer bet.

I tried the CMOS reset and BIOS update, but unfortunately, it didn't resolve the issue.

Have you tried using DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) to remove the old graphics drivers before you put in the new card? It might help clear any conflicts.
