Hey everyone! I'm in a bit of a bind here. I just formatted my old laptop to give it a fresh start, but now I can't seem to find the right Nvidia drivers for it. Every time I try to install the drivers, I get the error message: 'Nvidia installer cannot continue.' I've tried downloading drivers from various websites and updating through the Nvidia app, but it just keeps loading forever. I even attempted to use the Geforce Experience Classic, and it says I'm up to date with version 398.26. I used to play Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate on this laptop, but now it won't even load because of the outdated driver. I'm really hoping someone can help me out here so I can get back to gaming! 😢

You might want to try downloading the specific drivers listed on the laptop manufacturer’s website rather than the latest ones from Nvidia. Sometimes those older versions can work better for older hardware.

That's the issue though! The drivers are so outdated that I can't even get modern indie games to run. I used to be fine, but now it's just a mess.

Have you tried using the Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) to completely remove previous drivers before installing a new one? That can sometimes help clear out any conflicts that may cause the installer issue. Also, make sure your Windows is fully updated to avoid any compatibility problems.

Yeah, I did the DDU thing. I removed the drivers, but even after that, I still run into the same error when trying to install.
