I was trying to clear up some space and accidentally deleted everything in my trash folder. I thought the .config folder there wasn't the one being used since I have it located at /home/pedro, my home directory. Now, it seems like I'm missing a lot of my configurations—my Undertale game settings and my dotfiles for Hyprland and Waybar are all gone! Was that .config folder I deleted actually in use?

If the original .config folder was in /home/pedro, then yes, it was definitely the one being used. Deleting it means you've lost the configurations tied to your applications.
So, when you send files or folders to the trash, do they stay in their original locations?
