I moved an album from my old Android phone to a USB drive, but only about a third of the files made it over. I accidentally deleted that portion from the USB drive while I thought I was copying them instead of moving. Now, I'm not sure if the files are deleted from my phone too, and I'm desperate to recover those photos. I'm not very tech-savvy, so I would really appreciate some straightforward guidance on how to retrieve those pictures from the USB.

You might want to try using Recuva, which is a free tool that's pretty simple to operate. It can help recover deleted files from your USB drive, and you can give it a shot on your phone too. If you need something more advanced, there's also TestDisk, but it can be a bit tricky for beginners.
If you moved the files off your phone, then yes, they're gone from there. Deleting them from the USB means they're lost from there, too. But don't give up yet! There's still a chance to recover them, depending on what you tried.
