Help! I Bent My Motherboard Pins While Building My First PC

I was attempting to build my first PC and mistakenly dropped my CPU into the socket incorrectly, causing some of the motherboard pins to bend. In my efforts to fix it, I ended up bending even more pins than before. I'm really worried that I've ruined my $200 motherboard. What should I do? Is it possible to salvage it, or should I give up on building a PC altogether? Also, I managed to fix some pins using a magnifying glass and a safety pin, but I'm wondering if that will be enough for my CPU to work properly.

You're definitely not alone in this! Many people have faced similar issues. To fix bent pins, try using some tweezers or something really precise. Just take it slow and bend each one back carefully. It’s more about finesse than brute force! Remember, they’re just metal pins; they can be fixed as long as they’re not completely destroyed.

I tried taking photos of mine, but they were hard to capture! Only a few pins are out of place.
